Poomjaeng Reaches Final Round
Thailand’s Dechawat Poomjaeng is one win away from a return to the World Snooker Tour after defeating Malaysia’s Lim Lok Leong 4-1 on the penultimate day of Asia-Oceania Q School in Bangkok.
Tomorrow is the climax of event two, where the finalists will be awarded with two-year tour cards for the professional circuit. Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon and Muhammad Asif claimed the two spots on offer in event one.
Fan favourite Poomjaeng lost out against Tirapongpaiboon in the final round of the first event and will be hoping to go one step further this time around. Poomjaeng’s career highlight so far saw him delight the Crucible crowd with a run to the last 16 of the 2013 World Championship, but he hasn’t been a professional since the 16/17 season. He faces compatriot Narongdat Takantong tomorrow.
Poomjaeng’s fellow former Thai professional Kritsanut Lertsattayathorn will take part in tomorrow’s other semi-final. He faces India’s Himanshu Jain.
