Mark Selby secured his place at November’s ManBetX Champion of Champions yesterday following his dominant victory at the 19.com English Open in Crawley.

Without a title since the the 2018 China Championship, the former world number one was among those chasing a place at the Ricoh Arena with just two chances to qualify. After his crushing 9-1 success against David Gilbert yesterday however, he is now assured of his place at the prestigious invitational event.

Selby’s qualification means that the wait for World Seniors champion Jimmy White goes on with just the upcoming Yushan World Open remaining for other players not yet qualified to try and grab a place. Should an already qualified player triumph in Yushan however, then it will be White who will complete the field as the 16th player.

Yesterday’s result also means that Mark Williams can no longer qualify from the world ranking list, while he also cannot win the World Open as he has elected not to defend the title that he won last season.

Qualification for the event will be determined by the winners of professional tournaments dating back to Ronnie O’Sullivan’s victory in 2018, events having been ordered in a specific line of priority as set out below.
