Cue Zone into Schools is the worldwide grass roots development programme of the WPBSA. Its main objective is to develop the game of snooker within schools and communities.

The concept called functional snooker has proved successful in developing community cohesion for young and old who are able bodied, disadvantaged or disabled. It also supports those who have failed or are failing at school through attendance, low achievement with maths and English, or behavioural issues. The WPBSA believes everyone should be given the opportunity to take up snooker.

How it works

Once a school has chosen its route they will be visited by an experienced and qualified WPBSA World Snooker Coach who will undertake an introduction on how to play functional snooker.

A place will be arranged on a coaching course for a nominated member of staff, which will include full hotel accomodation and all course resources and the opportunity to achieve full WPBSA coaching status which opens up opportunities to attend coaching seminars throughout the year and take children to snooker events as rewards for their achievements.

The schools receive necessary support on an ongoing basis in order to develop its Cue Zone.
