Alex Borg first turned professional in 1991 and has spent several periods on the main tour ever since, most recently having regained his place at Q School Event 3 in 2019.
An 11-time national champion in his native Malta, Borg’s best ranking event performance came in 2018 at the Shoot Out where he defeated Daniel Wells and Matt Selt to reach the last 32, before losing to Thailand’s Sunny Akani.
Borg achieved a career-high world ranking of 80 during the 2005/6 season and is a two-time semi-finalist at the invitational Malta World Grand Prix tournament.
At amateur level, Borg is a two-time EBSA European champion having claimed back to back triumphs at the event in 2005 (def. Kristjan Helgason 7-2) and 2006 (def. Jeff Cundy 7-5).
