Amiri Amine of Morocco claimed the gold medal at the 2019 African Games men’s event to earn a two-year professional tour card for the first time from the start of the 2019/20 season.
Amine defeated Abdulraham Haridi of Egypt 4-3 in the final in Casablanca, having taken the sixth frame on a re-spotted black to stay in the match and was duly presented with his tour card by WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson.
He won his first match as a professional at the 2020 Gibraltar Open, defeating Adam Ashley in the last 128.
