Bio

China’s Jiang Jun had a breakthrough 2025/26 campaign which saw him reach the quarter-finals of the Scottish Open and Welsh Open.

He earned notable wins over Barry Hawkins, David Gilbert and Thepchaiya Un-Nooh to reach the last eight in Edinburgh before repeating the feat two months later in Llandudno – which included a last 64 success against Mark Selby.

Jiang earned a place on the World Snooker Tour for the first time from the start of the 2023/24 season, following his performances on the CBSA China Tour during the previous campaign.

The Chinese player made a solid start to life on the tour, notably reaching the third qualifying round of the 2023 UK Championship on debut.

He then went one better at the 2024 World Championship by defeating Amir Sarkhosh, Fan Zhengyi and Sam Craigie to reach the final qualifying round, where he was defeated 10-5 by Iran’s Hossein Vafaei.
