Bio

China’s Mei Xiwen enjoyed his best season on the World Snooker Tour in 2019/20 as he reached the quarter-finals of the English Open and Shoot Out tournaments.

Having spent a single season on tour in 2009/10, Mei regained his professional status in 2016 as a CBSA nomination and has since established himself as a consistent performer.

His first appearance in a ranking event quarter-final was to come at the 2019 English Open as he defeated Ronnie O’Sullivan in the last 16 before losing to eventual champion Mark Selby.

Mei also reached the last eight stage at the 2020 Shoot Out to consolidate his position inside of snooker’s top 64 players.
