Bio

Iran’s Soheil Vahedi reached the last 16 of a full-ranking event for the first time in his career at the 2020 Welsh Open in Cardiff.

Born in Tehran, Vahedi first turned professional in 2017 following his triumph at the World Amateur Championship in Qatar and in 2019 secured a two-year extension by successfully coming through Q School Event 1.

He also reached the last 32 of the Shoot Out in 2020 and is a former runner-up at the World Under-21 Championship (l. Noppon Saengkham). He claimed the bronze medal in the snooker event at the 2017 IWGA World Games in Wroclaw, Poland.
