World Women’s Snooker Championship to Return to Thailand
World Women’s Snooker (WWS) and the Billiard Sports association of Thailand (BSAT) are today delighted to jointly announce that the 2023 World Women’s Snooker Championship is to be held at the Hi-End Snooker Club in Bangkok, Thailand, from 28 February – 4 March 2023.
The eight-day event will also include the staging of the Women’s Snooker World Cup (25-27 February), World Women’s Under-21 Championship and World Women’s Seniors Championship from 28 February.
World Championship
Previously held at the stunning venue in 2019, the tournament will see the world’s best female players contest the Mandy Fisher Trophy, currently held by Thailand’s Mink Nutcharut following her breakthrough success earlier this year in Sheffield, England.
As an official qualifying pathway to the World Snooker Tour, the tournament will also offer a highly prized two-year tour card for the professional circuit to the champion.
With an impressive 15 tables in all, the Hi-End Snooker Club is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading snooker facilities. Thailand itself has emerged as a home of elite female talent in recent years with three players currently ranked inside of the top 20 and a further eight ranked.
The week is set to welcome the best players from around the world including record 12-time world champion Reanne Evans from England, three-time winner Ng On Yee of Hong Kong and the defending champion Mink Nutcharut.
World Cup / Under-21 / Seniors
Prior to the start of the World Championship itself, the week will also see the second staging of the Women’s Snooker World Cup (won by Thai duo Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan and Waratthanun Sukritthanes in 2019), from 25-27 February 2023.
For the first time, the World Women’s Under-21 and Seniors Championships will also be contested in Thailand during the week on 28 February 2023, with the option to extend to a second day in the event of high entries.

“Our previous experience at the venue was overwhelming and made possible thanks to the outstanding support and hospitality provided by Mr Suntorn Jarumon and his team at BSAT, in addition to our friends at the venue itself.
“The past few years have not been without their challenges due to the global pandemic and the restrictions in place around the world, but it has always been our goal to be able to return to Hi-End for what promises to be an incredible week of women’s snooker.
“I am delighted that this can now happen and am already looking forward to it!”
Mr. Suntorn Jarumon, BSAT president said: “It gives me a great pleasure to welcome back the world’s top women players to Thailand once again after a long hiatus of three years due to Covid-19 pandemic. Thailand has enjoyed the supremacy of women’s snooker talents over the years and this would be another excellent opportunity to boost women’s snooker in the country having our top women players defending their world titles they have captured on their homeland.
