WPBSA Players Statement | Shaun Murphy

It has today been announced that WPBSA Players Chairman Shaun Murphy has stepped down from the position with immediate effect.

The recently crowned Masters champion was elected to the Board of WPBSA Players in December 2023 and later became chairman of the body in May 2024.

Murphy will also step down from his position as non-executive player director of the WPBSA, which he has held since February 2024.

Shaun Murphy said: “It has been a great honour to serve the members of the WPBSA by chairing WPBSA Players but with an ever-increasing workload on and off the table, I feel now is the right time to step aside.

“I believe that WPBSA Players is in the best position it has ever been in, and I wish the organisation every success moving forward.”
