Young Blood: Dean Wins Challenge Seven

Home » Young Blood: Dean Wins Challenge Seven

Scottish teenager Dean Young won the season’s seventh Challenge Tour event in Neerpelt, Belgium, beating Andrew Pagett 3-1 in the final.

Edinburgh’s 17-year-old Young underlined his promise by winning five matches to take the £2,000 top prize.

Despite losing in the final, Welshman Pagett stretches his lead at the top of the Challenge Tour rankings. Young was previously 15th and now jumps into the top five. The leading player after the after ten events will be awarded a Tour Card, with the next eight going into a play-off event for a second card.

Young reached the last 16 of a Q School event earlier this year and won the Scottish under-21 title in 2018.

The next event is in Tamworth on January 18-19.
