Sensory Snooker was launched in 2023 to enable disabled people with complex needs to access snooker in a meaningful and engaging way.
A collaboration between the WPBSA and national disability charity Sense, Sensory Snooker breaks down the sport into key areas of skill development. It uses a person-centred approach to enable activities to be fully adapted to people’s needs and allowing them to fully benefit from all the physical, mental and social benefits derived from taking part in sports activities.
The programme has grown over the last 2 years with sessions being set up at clubs and community venues across the UK enabling hundreds of people to engage in snooker for the first time. A full support package is offered to any coaches or volunteers setting up Sensory Snooker sessions, including an activity toolkit, training, equipment and funding.
