Wu Yize has been voted as the WPBSA Players’ Player of the Month for November following his maiden ranking event title victory at the 2025 International Championship in Nanjing, China.
It was third time lucky for the 22-year-old cueist from China, who defeated four-time world champion John Higgins 10-6 to win his maiden crown in the third ranking event final of his career.

An impressive run for Wu saw him defeat Zhang Anda, Judd Trump, Barry Hawkins and reigning world champion Zhao Xintong en route to becoming the ninth player from China to win a ranking crown – entering the world’s elite top 16 as a result and securing a debut at the Masters in January.
Following his victory at the International Championship, Wu said: “Honestly, it feels unbelievable. After beating Judd Trump, I started thinking about the whole journey and it was surreal. It has been a long wait since reaching the final at the Scottish Open and the English Open last year. At times I honestly felt quite desperate, but deep down I always believed I had the ability to win a title. Every day I kept thinking about it. I had a strong will to lift a trophy. That belief carried me through this week.”
Glory in Nanjing earned Wu the victory in this month’s players vote with with 53%, ahead of Scotland Scott Donaldson (40%) and Champion of Champions winner Mark Selby (7%).

Launched by WPBSA Players, the Players’ Player of the Month award recognises outstanding performance, as voted by fellow players. Its key aim is to honour excellence, consistency, and impact on the table, as recognised by those who understand the demands of the game best.
Each month throughout the 2025/26 season a shortlist will be compiled by an independent panel. The panel includes renowned snooker broadcasters David Hendon and Abigail Davies, sports journalist Phil Haigh and WPBSA Players Director Tian Pengfei. The shortlist will consider performances in all completed events for the corresponding month.
