Allan Taylor regained his place on the World Snooker Tour in May 2024 by defeating Chris Totten 4-3 in the first event of Q School in the UK.
Taylor first tried snooker at the age of seven and eventually turned professional in 2013 by virtue of his position on the PTC Order of Merit. He would stay on tour for an initial six-year period, retaining his place in 2015 through his results at European Tour events and subsequently coming through Q School in 2017.
He reached the last 16 of a ranking event for the first time at the 2024 Shoot Out and has a career-high ranking to date of 73rd which he reached in November 2018.
At the 2020 World Championship qualifiers, Taylor recorded career-high breaks of 145 and 134 during a 6-1 victory against Lee Walker, surpassing his previous best of 133.
During the 2019/20 season Taylor also acted as Master of Ceremonies for WST at the season’s Home Nations Series tournaments.
