Bio

The most successful female snooker player of all-time, England’s Reanne Evans has been a true trailblazer for women’s snooker in the 21st century and holds many significant records on the WWS Tour.

Since making her debut at the 2002 World Championship, Reanne would go on to capture the first of a record 12 world titles in 2005 (ten consecutive from 2005-2014), surpassing the previous record of seven set by Allison Fisher in 2012.

To date she has won an unmatched 58 ranking event titles in all since her first at the 2004 Connie Gough National, including nine UK Championship crowns and six Eden Masters wins.

From 2008-2011 she won a record 90 consecutive matches on tour, smashing the previous record of 69 set by Kelly Fisher between 2001-2003.

Reanne has twice recorded breaks of 140 in ranking competition – the highest ever on the WWS circuit – and in April 2019 regained the world number one ranking from Hong Kong’s Ng On Yee.

In October 2020 she was recognised for her services to snooker following the award of an MBE as part of the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

Main Tour

The Dudley potter has also flown the flag for women snooker players in professional World Snooker Tour events for several years, notably becoming the first woman to successfully qualify for the venue stages of a ranking event in 2013 with her defeat of Thailand’s Thepchaiya Un-Nooh at the Wuxi Classic.

In 2015 she would come close to causing a major upset at the professional World Championship in Sheffield, narrowly losing 10-8 to 1997 world champion Ken Doherty in the first qualifying round. Two years later she would record her best main tour win to date, a 10-8 victory against Finland’s Robin Hull leaving her just two matches away from a place at the Crucible Theatre, before she fell to Lee Walker in the second round.

At the 2019 Champion of Champions Reanne came within a frame of a televised victory against former world champion Shaun Murphy, only for the triple crown winner to claim the frame with a stunning break of 130 to win 4-3.

In March 2021, it was announced that Reanne would turn professional from the start of the 2021/22 season, receiving a two-year professional tour card after the World Women’s Snooker Tour became an official WST qualifying tour. She had previously spent one season on tour from 2010-11.

At the 2023 Shoot Out, she defeated former world champion Stuart Bingham to become the first woman to win a televised match on the World Snooker Tour. Following relegation at the end of the campaign, she immediately regained her professional circuit after finishing as the number one ranked player on the WWS Tour.
