Gary Wilson made the 199th maximum break in snooker history in the second frame of his BetVictor Welsh Open semi-final with John Higgins on Saturday night in Llandudno.
Wilson was on for a 147 in the opening frame but missed the penultimate red on 104, but when he got another chance in the second, he potted all 15 reds with blacks and cleared the colours.
It’s Wilson’s fifth career maximum and he becomes the 13th player to reach that milestone. The break puts him in line to win the tournament’s £5,000 high break prize.
