Bio

China’s Gong Chenzhi achieved professional status for the first time in 2024 following success on the CBSA China Tour.

As a wildcard, Gong defeated Daniel Womersley and Jordan Brown at the 2023 Wuhan Open to achieve a then career-best run to the last 32 of a professional ranking event. At the 2024 Xi’an Grand Prix, he went one stage better by beating Anthony Hamilton, Tom Ford and Si Jiahui to reach the last 16.

In 2024, he reached the final of the World Snooker Federation (WSF) Junior Championship in Albania where he lost out to Hungarian Bulcsú Révész. This result earned Gong a place in the 2024 World Championship qualifiers, where he lost 10-7 to veteran professional Rod Lawler.
