Zhang Anda crafted the third maximum break of his career, thrilling the York Barbican crowd with a spectacular 147 at the Victorian Plumbing UK Championship.
The Chinese cueman conjured a perfect run in the fourth frame of his last 32 meeting with compatriot Lei Peifan. Zhang’s last maximum came in the final of last year’s International Championship, where he picked up a maiden ranking title.
Today’s break puts him in line for the £15,000 high break prize, surpassing Zhao Xintong’s previous high run of 146. He also now needs just one more maximum to earn a bumper £147,000 bonus payout. Any player who makes two 147s accross the Triple Crown events and the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters will secure the prize.
It’s the sixth 147 of the season and the 208th in the history of professional snooker.
