The World Professional Billiards & Snooker Association can today confirm that the third event of the 2024/25 Q Tour Middle East series will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 17-19 January 2025.

In a change from the initially announced venue in Saudi Arabia, the event marks a return to the UAE Snooker Academy in Dubai which hosted the second event of the 2024/25 series as well as all three events during the previous campaign.

Now into its second season, the inaugural Q Tour Middle East series saw great success for players from the region as both Iran’s Amir Sarkhosh and Mohamed Shehab from the United Arab Emirates secured two-year World Snooker Tour (WST) cards via the Q Tour Global play-offs.

This season has seen a further expansion of the series with events having already taken place in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, which were won by Habib Subah Humood and Ali Gharahgozlou respectively.

The top two players in the Q Tour Middle East ranking list at the conclusion of the event in Saudi Arabia will earn places at the 2025 Q Tour Global Play-Off, where three WST tour cards will be on offer.

WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson said: “We are delighted to continue to be returning to Dubai for the concluding event of the WPBSA Q Tour Middle East Series. The growth of Q Tour Middle East offers direct pathways to the World Snooker Tour for the next generation of players from the region and we would like to thank everyone involved for their continued support.”

Mohamed Shehab, the tournament director and a World Snooker Tour (WST) professional who earned his tour card via Q Tour last season, said: “I am thrilled to see Dubai once again hosting a key event of the Q Tour Middle East series. This tournament not only highlights the region’s growing presence in the global snooker scene but also provides an incredible platform for emerging talent to shine.”

“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the UAE Billiards and Snooker Federation and the WPBSA for their unwavering support and dedication to developing snooker in our region and wish all the best for the players.”
