Less than two days prior to the start of the 2015 188BET Champion of Champions, Northern Ireland’s Mark Allen has claimed a place at the big money event by winning the Victoria Bulgarian Open in Sofia.
Previously without a title since the 2014 Paul Hunter Classic, Allen qualifies to play in Coventry at the expense of recent Haining Open champion Ding Junhui.
This is because the Victoria Bulgarian Open takes precedence over the Asian Tour on the qualifying list of tournaments for the 188BET Champion of Champions, notwithstanding the fact that Ding’s victory came first chronologically.
The final list of qualifiers is therefore as follows, players numbered by qualification place, not seeding:
1. 2014 Champion of Champions – Ronnie O’Sullivan (Not entered)
