Michael Georgiou and Jamie Jones both made their first official maximum break at the Paul Hunter Classic on Friday.
Georgiou’s perfect break came in the second frame of his first round match against Umut Dikme at the world ranking event in Furth, Germany. The Cypriot player went on to win 4-2, before losing 4-3 in the last 64 against Zhang Yong.
Welshman Jones then matched his feat in the third frame of his second round match against Lee Walker. That put Jones 2-1 up, though he eventually lost 4-2.
Jones and Shoot Out champion Georgiou will each earn a £10,000 bonus from the rolling pot for 147s, though the prize will be shared further if there are any more maximums over the weekend.
These are the first two 147s of the 2018/19 season and the 140th and 141st in snooker history – click here for the full list.
