Mark Allen crafted a magnificent 147 break in front of a raucous Alexandra Palace crowd during his MrQ Masters quarter-final clash with Mark Selby.
The Northern Irishman’s magical run came in the third frame of this evening’s match. It is the second to be made this week, following Ding Junhui’s 147 in the opening round against Ronnie O’Sullivan.
That means Allen and Ding are in line to share the £15,000 high break prize. Both players, alongside Xu Si, are now one more maximum break away from claiming the £147,000 bonus, which is awarded if a player makes two 147s across the three Triple Crown events this season.
It’s the fifth 147 in Masters history and the 196th to be made in professional snooker.
