Artemijs Žižins came through the first event of the 2024 Q School to make history as the first ever professional player from Latvia.
Victories over former professionals Iulian Boiko and Mark Joyce saw Žižins set up a final round meeting with Kayden Brierley, who he defeated 4-2 to secure a two-year tour card.
The teenager became European Under-16 champion in 2022, defeating Vladislav Gradinari in the final, and won the Latvian National Championship the following year.
