Bio

Florian Nuessle made history for his country by coming through the 2025 WPBSA Q Tour Global Play-Offs to become the first ever World Snooker Tour (WST) professional from Austria.

Victories over Josh Thomond, Ehsan Heydari Nezhad and Andres Petrov in Antalya, Türkiye saw Nuessle realise his dream of turning professional for the first time at the age of 23.

Nuessle had previously competed in professional events at a top-up and most notably reached the quarter-finals of the 2024 Shoot Out with wins against Dean Young, Iulian Boiko, Zhou Yuelong and Antoni Kowalski before losing out to four-time world champion Mark Selby.

He is also an eight-time Austrian national champion and first won the title at the age of just 16.
