Pakistan’s Haris Tahir secured a two-year World Snooker Tour card for the first time in his career by advancing through the Asia-Oceania Q School in dramatic fashion.
Tahir came through deciding frames against both Zhou Jinhao and Ehsan Heydarinezhad to reach the final round before overcoming China’s Lan Yuhao 4-2 after trailing 2-1 to earn a tour card.
The best run of his maiden professional campaign came at the 2024 British Open where he defeated Simon Blackwell and Dean Young to reach the last 32 stage for the first time in his career.
Known in Pakistan as ‘Mr One Visit’, Tahir is said to have compiled over 100 century breaks in amateur tournament play and is a former Pakistan National Under-18 champion.
