China’s Jiang Jun earned a place on the World Snooker Tour for the first time from the start of the 2023/24 season, following his performances on the CBSA China Tour during the previous campaign.
The Chinese player made a solid start to life on the tour, notably reaching the third qualifying round of the 2023 UK Championship on debut.
He then went one better at the 2024 World Championship by defeating Amir Sarkhosh, Fan Zhengyi and Sam Craigie to reach the final qualifying round, where he was defeated 10-5 by Iran’s Hossein Vafaei.
His finest run to date came at the 2024 International Championship where, in his home nation, he beat Luca Brecel, Amir Sarkhosh and Yuan Sijun to reach the last 16 of a ranking event for the first time before losing out to fellow countryman Ding Junhui.
