Ka Wai Cheung defeated Gao Yang 5-0 in the final of the 2024 World Snooker Federation Championship to lift the biggest title of his career to date and earn professional status as a result.
Cheung was in outstanding form in Albania as he dropped just four frames across his ten matches to win the sport’s most prestigious amateur crown, as well as firing in the tournament high break of 138 in a semi-final whitewash victory of Iulian Boiko.
This success also earned the Hong Kong China cueist a spot in the 2024 World Championship qualifiers where he led Ross Muir 9-6 in the first round before eventually losing out in a deciding frame.
