India’s Kreishh Gurbaxani qualified for the World Snooker Tour for the first time after successfully coming through event two of the 2024 Asia-Oceania Q School.
He defeated former professional and fellow countryman Himanshu Jain en route to the final round, where he overcame Pakistan’s Muhammad Naseem Akhtar 4-2 after trailing 2-0.
In his maiden campaign, Gurbaxani notably defeated Lei Peifan, Xu Si and Ashley Carty at the 2024 Shoot Out to reach the last 16 stage of a ranking event for the first time.
In 2020, Gurbaxani reached the quarter-finals of the World Snooker Federation’s junior event and in 2024 he picked up notable victories Florian Nuessle, Mitchell Travis and Vladislav Gradinari on the way to reaching the last 16 of the open WSF Championship.
