Bio

Liam Davies won the 2024 EBSA European Under-21 Championship to earn a two-year World Snooker Tour card.

Davies had come agonisingly close to securing professional status just a few days earlier as he lost in a decider at the WPBSA Global Play-Offs to fellow Welshman Duane Jones having led 9-7, but quickly bounced back to defeat Antoni Kowalski 5-3 in the European Under-21 final in Bosnia & Herzegovina.

One of Wales’ finest young prospects, Davies has won the Welsh Championship at Under-14, Under-16, Under-18 and Under-21 level and won his first Q Tour event in 2023.

He has previously competed in a number of professional events as a wildcards – notably becoming the youngest ever to do so as a 12-year-old at the 2019 Shoot Out, and later making history as the youngest player to win a match in the World Championship when he defeated Aaron Hill and then Fergal O’Brien as a 15-year-old at the 2022 qualifiers.
