The race for both a place on the World Snooker Tour (WST) and spots at the WPBSA Q Tour Global Play-Offs has reached its halfway point following the conclusion of the fourth Q Tour Europe event in Leeds, UK last Saturday.

As in previous seasons, the top ranked player following the conclusion of the seventh and final event will earn an automatic two-year WST place for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 campaigns, with a minimum of 16 further players to qualify for the season-end Global Playoffs to contest three further tour cards.

Winners of each Q Tour Europe event are guaranteed a spot in the Global Playoffs meaning that Hammad Miah, Peter Lines, Simon Blackwell and latest winner Jamie Clarke have already secured their places.

Lines Leads

England’s Peter Lines continues to lead the way in the race for the automatic tour card on offer, albeit with a reduced advantage to second placed Hammad Miah of just 930 points following the action in Leeds.

Former Shoot Out semi-finalist Jamie Clarke is up to third place, having lifted the title at the Northern Snooker Centre, while Simon Blackwell, Oliver Sykes and veteran cueist Craig Steadman lead the chasing pack.

Eight players stand within a single event win of top spot, if Lines were to lose in the opening round of Event 5 in Bulgaria next month.

The Playoff Race

With three events and a maximum 30,000 points on offer between now and the end of the season, the opportunity remains for all players to claim a place in the all-important Global Playoff event in 2026.

Former professional and 2023 playoff winner Ashley Carty is currently the player in possession of 17th place with 7,655 points to his name, just 145 points ahead of compatriot Alfie Burden.

WPBSA Q Tour Europe continues from 4-7 December with Event 5 at the National Snooker Academy of Bulgaria in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Entry for the event is open now via WPBSA SnookerScores and will close on Wednesday 20 November at 12:00pm GMT.
