Mark Selby has been voted as the WPBSA Players’ Player of the Month for December after winning the 10th Triple Crown title of his career at the 2025 UK Championship in York.

Selby defeated Judd Trump 10-8 in the title match at the York Barbican to win the UK crown for the third time in his career, just weeks after he had defeated the world number one 10-5 in the Champion of Champions final.

The four-time world champion overcame Lei Peifan, Zhou Yuelong, Barry Hawkins, Shaun Murphy and finally Trump to become only the eighth player in history to win 25 ranking event titles.

Following his victory in York, Selby said: “To win any tournament nowadays is so difficult. I put so much emphasis on these Triple Crown events. I always try that little bit harder and the pressure is greater. These are the events I judge my CV on. It is nice to get to double figures.”

Success for Selby earned him victory in this month’s players vote with with 50%, ahead of Chris Wakelin (22%), Chang Bingyu (14%) and Alfie Burden (14%).
