The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) has announced that this season’s WPBSA Q Tour Global Play-Offs will be held in Gandía, Spain from 15-17 March 2026.

To be contested alongside the European Billiards and Snooker Association (EBSA), European Championships, the play-offs will see three players earn a two-year World Snooker Tour (WST) card from the start of the 2026/27 season.

Last year’s event saw Steven Hallworth, Liam Highfield and Florian Nuessle all prevail to earn their professional status.

THE FIELD

The event will be contested by 24 players who will need to win three matches to secure a professional tour card. The first round will feature best-of-nine contests, followed by best-of-11 and finally best-of-19 frames.

This will include a minimum of 16 players from the Q Tour Europe Series, with Hammad Miah, Peter Lines, Simon Blackwell and Jamie Clarke each already guaranteed to qualify as event winners so far this season – unless one of them were to claim the automatic tour card for finishing in top spot.

They will be joined by up to eight players from regional Q Tour events held around the world including Q Tours in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions, with outstanding performers based upon regional ranking lists set to qualify for the Global Play-Offs.

“AN INTERNATIONAL PATHWAY TO THE WORLD SNOOKER TOUR”

Jason Ferguson, WPBSA Chairman said: “We are delighted to be working with the European Billiards & Snooker Association (EBSA) to once again host the WPBSA Q Tour Global Play-Offs alongside the European Championships for a third consecutive year.

“The WPBSA Q Tour Global provides an international pathway to the World Snooker Tour, made up from season-long playing opportunities around the world. The WPBSA management team and I are delighted to see it continuing to grow year-on-year, and now with more prize money and  increased entry numbers.

“I would like to extend my thanks to EBSA President Maxime Cassis and his team for their support. I am certain that they will help to ensure the event is once again a success.”

Maxime Cassis, EBSA President said: “We are once again proud to continue to cooperate with WPBSA to host the Q Tour Global Play-Off for a third year.

“This season has seen a Q Tour Europe event hosted as part of the EBSA European Championships in Albania for the first time and we are delighted to continue working with the WPBSA to run successful events for all involved.

“For this final stage in Spain, we are further delighted to announce that all matches will be played on Xing Pai tables. This follows the recent announcing of a new partnership between Xing Pai and the EBSA. On behalf of the EBSA, I would like to thank all our partners who continue to support our development.”
