Former world champions Terry Griffiths and Ray Reardon were remembered at the latest WPBSA Coaching Seminar which was staged in York ahead of the UK Championship.
Staged at the Novotel in York on the eve of the first Triple Crown event of the season, the seminar was attended by WPBSA coaches who have qualified across the three levels of the WPBSA Coaching Programme.

The annual event, led by WPBSA Head of Coaching and Training Development Manager Chris Lovell, featured a talk from special guest speaker Wayne Griffiths – the son of Terry and the Head Coach of Billiard Sports at the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) since 2010.
He was joined by sports coach Chris Henry, leading cue maker John Parris, former World Seniors Snooker champion Lee Walker, WPBSA Player Relations Manager Neil Tomkins and many more in sharing their memories of Griffiths and Reardon – the former Heads of the WPBSA Coaching Programmes who both sadly passed away last year.

Following the event, WPBSA Head of Coaching and Training Development Manager Chris Lovell: “It was a privilege to have Wayne Griffiths and his family in attendance at the WPBSA Coaching Seminar where his father and fellow former world champion Ray Reardon were remembered and honoured.
“The two have left an incredible legacy for our sport, not least as former Heads of the WPBSA Coaching Programmes, and the Programme continues to go from strength to strength.
“I would like to thank Wayne and all the other speakers who took their time to share their memories, as well as all the coaches in attendance and the Novotel York for hosting the event once again.”
