Daniel Ward defeated Gerard Greene 4-2 to win the fifth World Seniors Tour event of the season the The Crucible Club in Reading.
The victory marked a maiden win on the World Seniors Tour for the 44-year-old, who denied Greene a hat-trick of titles with victory in the title match in Berkshire.

Five nations were represented at the event which was the fifth of nine in the series that offers qualification for next year’s World Seniors Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre.
Ward, who had reached the final of event two before losing out to Dharminder Lilly, survived an early scare by coming from 2-0 down against Neil Craycraft to advance as a 4-3 victor with breaks of 98, 83 and 61.
A 4-2 win against Stuart Watson followed to secure a place in the final day where he first met former World Seniors champion Aaron Canavan from Jersey.

Ward was again able to come through the final frame by a 75-39 scoreline and then downed Philip Williams 4-2 to reach his second title match of the campaign.
There he faced former professional Greene, who was on an incredible run of 15 consecutive victories on the World Seniors Tour and aiming for a third successive title.
The first four frames of the final were shared, but it was Ward who pulled away with a break 52 in the fifth before getting over the line a 4-2 victor to earn his first title on the World Seniors Tour.
