Alan Whitfield beat Jason Williams 4-1 at The Corner Bank to win the third Q Tour Americas event of the campaign in Toronto, Canada.

The Canadian cueist, who finished as runner-up in the 2025 Canadian National Championship, became the second player to win a Q Tour Americas series event this season after Brazil’s Igor Figueiredo – who did the double on home soil last year.

A field of 12 cueists contested the event in North America and a whitewash win over compatriot Levi Meiller saw Whitfield book his place in the final day.

A hard-fought semi-final battle between Whitfield and Alvin Chan saw them share the first four frames before Chan moved within one of victory by taking the fifth.

Chan scored a break of 39 in the next, but it wasn’t enough to stop Whitfield from forcing a deciding frame which he then took with a contribution of 42 to reach the title match.

There he faced 2023 Canadian National champion Williams, who had downed Ravi Sundriyal, Anita Chan and Indi Lotey with the loss of just two frames across the weekend.

In a high-quality contest, Whitfield moved 2-0 ahead with a break of 71 before Williams countered with the tournament high break of 78 to reduce his deficit.

The title came within touching distance for Whitfield when he took the next with help from a visit of 40, and his dream became realty when he took frame five by just five points to secure the first Q Tour crown of his career.

The fourth and final Q Tour Americas event takes place in California, USA on 14-16 February 2026.
