With his victory at the Bank of Communications Shanghai Masters last weekend, Kyren Wilson becomes the latest player to qualify for this season’s Champion of Champions event.
Since my last update, both he and Sangsom Six Red World Championship winner Thepchaiya Un-Nooh have added their names to the following list of qualifying players:

23. Asian Tour 1 (Oct) – TBC
23. Six Reds World Championship (Sept) – Thepchaiya Un-Nooh (16)
24. The Shoot Out (Jan) – Michael White
25. The World Seniors Championship (Oct) Mark Williams (17)
With both Wilson and Un-Nooh having won counting events to qualify for the tournament in Coventry, two-time world champion Mark Williams has now been nudged out of qualifying position.
This is because both the Six Red World Championship and the Shanghai Masters outrank the World Seniors Championship in the qualifying criteria, despite that event having come first chronologically.
Notwithstanding that, any of the above players may choose not to enter the event, while it is not yet clear as to whether World Cup winner Yan Bingtao will receive a visa for the event, so there may still be a way into the event for Williams.
The only way for him to make sure of qualification however is to win one of the three remaining counting events, beginning with the Ruhr Open in early October.
