The WPBSA and WST have today jointly confirmed the provisional tour card structure for the 2025/26 World Snooker Tour.

Retained Places

The top 64 players on the Johnstone’s Paint world rankings following the 2025 Halo World Championship will retain their tour places.

They will be joined by up to 32 players who are currently on the first year of a two-year tour card, as well as the top four players on the Johnstone’s Paint one-year list, not already qualified.

Qualification Pathways

The tour will be completed by the players who successfully qualify through officially recognised WPBSA Tour Qualification pathways around the globe.

These will include Q School Europe and Q School Asia-Oceania, where a total of 12 two-year tour cards will be won.

Earlier this year, both Gao Yang and Leone Crowley secured their places at the prestigious World Snooker Federation (WSF) Championships in Morocco, following victories in the Open and Junior competitions respectively.

A further four tour cards were won at snooker’s premier amateur circuit, the WPBSA Q Tour Global, with overall winner Zhao Xintong joined by playoff qualifiers Liam Highfield, Steven Hallworth and Austria’s first professional player Florian Nuessle.

The World Women’s Snooker (WWS) Tour will see a further two players qualify for the World Snooker tour, with three-time world champion Ng On Yee already confirmed to regain her professional status for the first time since 2023. She will be joined by the winner of the 2025 World Women’s Snooker Championship next month, or the highest ranked player not already qualified, should the winner have already earned their place.

The final positions will be claimed by recognised regional qualifiers from Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Asia-Pacific regions, in addition to the CBSA China Tour.
