The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) hosted its latest annual coaching seminar last Friday at the Betfred World Championship in Sheffield.
The evening was headlined by former world champion Ken Doherty, who spoke about his career in the sport and answered questions from the floor. There was also an update presentation by World Disability Billiards and Snooker (WDBS) Chairman Nigel Mawer QPM, who spoke about the recent activities of the WDBS and the coaching opportunities available at its events.
There was also a special graduation ceremony held for those coaches in attendance who during the past 12 months have gained their 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Snooker Coaching. The coaches were each presented with a framed certificate by WPBSA chairman Jason Ferguson, Ken Doherty and Joanna Saunders, Learning and Assessment Team Manager at 1st4sport Qualifications.
