The World Snooker Federation (WSF), alongside Morocco Snooker, has today announced that the 2025 WSF Championships will be held in Saïdia, Morocco.

The Championships will once again include two prestigious open tournaments that will offer direct qualification to the World Snooker Tour for each winner and will run from 18 January to 1 February 2025.

Organised by the WSF with the support of snooker’s world governing body the WPBSA, the WSF Championships represent the biggest event on the amateur snooker calendar globally, with a significant entry expected for this sixth staging of the competition.

The event will run for 15 days at the Radisson Blu Resort, Saïdia Resort and will comprise the open WSF Championship (24 January – 1  February 2025), won last season by Ka Wai Cheung of Hong Kong China, and the WSF Junior Championship (18-23 January 2025) which saw Bulscu Revesz lift the title most recently.

Open to players of all nationalities and genders, both tournaments will see its champion earn a two-year professional Tour card from the start of the 2025/26 season. There will also be additional opportunities for elite performers at the event to compete at further World Snooker Tour events.

Alongside the Junior Championships, it is planned that a World Women’s Snooker (WWS) ranking event will be held. Learn more at the WWS website.

All events are to be played on Xing Pai Championship tables, ensuring the WSF meets the highest standards laid down by the WPBSA for the World Snooker Tour and its recognised development pathways to the Tour.

Jason Ferguson, WSF President said: “The WSF Championships have continued to grow from strength to strength since 2018 and we are hugely excited to be heading to Africa for the first time next year.

“I have been fortunate to have visited Morocco on several occasions in the past, most notably at the African Games in 2019 at which unforgettable memories were made as home player Amine Amiri earned the gold medal for the first time.

“I would like to thank Morocco Snooker for their invaluable support and look forward to another huge WSF event as the best amateur players from around the world look to secure their place on the World Snooker Tour.”

Entry for both tournaments will be made through WPBSA SnookerScores with further information including full invitation letter to be released in due course.
