Former UK Championship quarter-finalist Barry West has sadly passed away at the age of 64.
West, from Doncaster, played on the pro tour from 1985 to 1997 and had a highest world ranking of 21st. He reached the quarter-finals of the UK Championship in both 1985 and 1988, and also the same stage of the 1988 International Open.
Stuart Carrington wrote on social media: “RIP Barry West, pleasure to have known you for many years now such a shock to hear the sad news.”
Ian McCulloch added: “Really sad news about the passing of Yorkshire snooker legend Barry West. A great top 32 player back in the late 80s and a real character on and off the table. Spent a lot of time back in the day together.”
WST and WPBSA send sincere condolences to Barry’s family and friends.
