Bio

Stuart Carrington reached his first ranking event semi-final at the 2018 Riga Masters, losing to eventual champion Neil Robertson.

From Grimsby in England, Carrington first turned professional for a single season in 2011 before regaining his place at the 2013 EBSA Play-Offs.

In 2021, Carrington matched his semi-final run at the 2018 Riga Masters, again reaching the last four at the 2021 Gibraltar Open. Following wins against players including David Gilbert and Xiao Guodong, Carrington narrowly lost out 4-3 to Jack Lisowski to miss out on a place in the final.

As well as his semi-final runs, Carrington has also reached a further three ranking event quarter-finals.

He has qualified for the televised stages of the World Championship on three occasions, including 2017 when he became only the fifth player ever to have compiled three successive century breaks during his opening round match against Liang Wenbo.

At amateur level, Carrington is a former winner of the English Amateur Championship (2013) and in 2006 defeated Scotland’s Anthony McGill to win Junior Pot Black at the Crucible Theatre.
