Bio

Preston’s Ian Burns has twice reached the quarter-finals of a full-ranking event and has been an ever-present on the World Snooker Tour since 2012.

His first last eight appearance came at the 2017 Paul Hunter Classic where he scored an impressive win against Kyren Wilson before losing 4-1 to eventual champion Michael White.

He repeated the feat later during the season at the Welsh Open, notably withstanding three century breaks from opponent Neil Robertson to win 4-3 in the second round, eventually going down to Noppon Saengkham in the quarter-finals.

Burns reached a career-high ranking of 60 in April 2017 and in 2019 earned a fresh two-year tour card thanks to his position on the 2018/19 one-year ranking list.
