All-Party Parliamentary Group for Snooker Chairman Karl McCartney has today asked DCMS Secretary of State Oliver Dowden whether snooker has been re-classed as entertainment and not sport.
The Secretary of State responded, saying:
“In relation to snooker, it is the case that the professional game has returned, but some recreational snooker, at least, may not be happening in higher tiers due to the risk of spreading but we will keep this under review.”
The question is available to watch online.
The WPBSA/EPSB will continue to work with the DCMS directly and post any updates on the respective websites.
