Reanne Evans and Jimmy White moved a step closer to qualification for this season’s ManBetX Champion of Champions after Stephen Maguire claimed victory at the SangSom 6-Red World Championship on Saturday.

With Scotland’s Maguire already qualified for the event following his World Cup win alongside John Higgins earlier in the summer, his latest success means that there are now just four remaining counting events between now and November with 12 players therefore already assured of their places at the Ricoh Arena.

Should one of those four events be won by an already qualified player then reigning world women’s champion Reanne Evans will join the field for the first time in her career, with recently crowned world seniors king Jimmy White next in line should there be two more repeat winners. In the event of there being three or more repeat winners, the field will be completed by players based upon their world ranking, with Mark Williams and Mark Selby currently in contention.

Qualification for the event will be determined by the winners of professional tournaments dating back to Ronnie O’Sullivan’s victory in 2018, events having been ordered in a specific line of priority as set out below.
