Budding young Chinese players had the chance to improve their snooker skills at an outdoor exhibition in Beijing this weekend.

Tables and official coaches form part of the Sport Is Great project, which is part of the Great Britain campaign organised by the British Embassy in Beijing.

World Snooker and the WPBSA are working with our partner Star to bring the sport to more fans and give them the chance to learn to play.

The snooker exhibition is in the Huairou District of China’s capital city and it will remain in place until September.

The comprehensive amateur structure in China has led to the development of a stream of talented players in recent years, including Yan Bingtao who won the recent Riga Masters. This season there are 23 Chinese players among the 128 on the World Snooker Tour.
