The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) hosted its annual coaching seminar on Friday evening in Sheffield.
The session was headlined by keynote speaker Chris Henry, coach to several high profile snooker players down the years including former world champions Peter Ebdon and Shaun Murphy, as well as leading players in other sports including golf. Henry spoke about his coaching techniques, focusing on the mental aspect of snooker and shared a number of anecdotes from his time in the sport, before answering questions from the floor.
There was also a presentation by WPBSA Club and Facilities Manager Bob Hill on the upcoming Clubmark accreditation scheme for snooker venues, as well an opportunity for the coaches in attendance who had participated in the opening day of the bridging course for the new 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Snooker Coaching to offer their feedback.
WPBSA coaches are invited to attend coaching seminars each year to receive updates on WPBSA activity, network and share best practice.
