A group of newly qualified WPBSA Snooker Coaches were recognised earlier this week following an innovative online presentation during the Cazoo World Snooker Championship.

The 12 successful delegates completed the online WPBSA Level 1 Coaching Course earlier this year and were presented with their certificates during the opening Monday of this year’s World Championship.

Among those present in Sheffield to offer their congratulations via video link were WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson, WPBSA Head of Coaching and Training Development Chris Lovell and Bobby Lee, Director of overseas training for the CBSA-WPBSA Guangdong Academy, with whom the WPBSA has cooperated to deliver the course.

The course was organised and delivered as an introductory part of the WPBSA’s Accredited Coaching Course Programme. The qualification aims to provide initial training during year one, with a view to a leading local coach being able to deliver the technical aspects of the course in year two for their initial Accredited Coaching Course.

Bobby Lee said: “It was a pleasure to work with the WPBSA and all of the qualified coaches who have made this possible for all our coaches in China. The quality of the course and the way it was delivered online was over and above all expectations and I am sure the course will continue in China. I look forward to the next time to deliver to our next group of coaches.”
