Ronnie O’Sullivan made a brilliant maximum break at the Fuhua Group China Open on Tuesday.

The Rocket potted 15 reds with blacks and cleared the colours to register a perfect 147 in the fifth frame of his last-64 match against Elliot Slessor in Beijing.

It’s the 14th maximum of O’Sullivan’s career and his first since the 2014 UK Championship. He will earn a £35,000 bonus from the rolling prize pot for 147s, plus the £7,000 high break prize, as long as the maximum is not equalled this week. That could push his total prize money for the season to £845,500.

World number two O’Sullivan lost the first four frames against world number 73 Slessor before making the 147 when they returned from the interval.

It’s the 137th maximum in snooker history and sixth of the season.
