Bio

Welshman Andrew Pagett secured his fourth spell on the professional circuit with a 5-2 victory against Finland’s Heikki Niva at the 2020 EBSA European Championship in Portugal.

From Newport, he first turned professional as Welsh number one for the start of the 2008/9 season, subsequently regaining his place in 2010 and 2013 prior to his most recent success.

He has reached the last 32 stage of three events on the World Snooker Tour, most notably the 2011 World Championship where he defeated Zhang Anda, Bjorn Haneveer, Nigel Bond and Andrew Higginson to qualify for the televised stages, losing 10-7 to Jamie Cope.

As an amateur he won the Welsh Amateur Championship in 2005 and 2010 and prior to his 2020 success also reached the final of the European Championship in 2003, losing to compatriot David John.
