Bio

Ma Hai Long secured his place on the World Snooker Tour for the first time in 2023 following his breakthrough victory at the 2023 World Snooker Federation Championship in Australia.

The Chinese player notably defeated England’s Stan Moody 5-0 in the title match to secure snooker’s most prestigious amateur title and confirm his graduation to the professional circuit from the start of the 2023/24 season.

Ma’s best run of his maiden season on tour came at the 2023 British Open, where victories over Mohamed Ibrahim and Hammad Miah saw him reach the last 16 of a ranking event for the first time. At the World Championship, he overcame Victor Sarkis and former ranking event finalist Martin O’Donnell to reach the third qualifying round before losing out to fellow countryman Cao Yupeng.
